If you are reading this, you enjoy the openness and decentralisation of Web 3.0.

On , let's fast-forward to the future.

Web 4.0 will blend virtual and real environments while boosting innovation, rich content and industrial applications.

To ensure everyone benefits from it, we will:
- Shape global standards for open Web 4.0
- Foster a European Web 4.0 industrial ecosystem

@EU_Commission

Yeah, yeah, of course we'll entrust designing the internet to a lobby-infested entity.

Get rid of your lice first.

@EU_Commission

I don't know much about it but Web 1.0 was all geocities and that, Web 2.0 was 5 big sites and people have been trying to scam "crypto" and "blockchain" and "AI" as very energy intensive solutions in search of a problem and your money. That's Web 3.0.

So I'm afraid I don't really understand what you're trying to say here. I do like the little graphic. Very gender inclusive. 😀

@EU_Commission Web 3.0 was a silly made-up buzzword. Web 4.0 builds on that silly buzzword for an even sillier buzzword. stop trying to version things...

@EU_Commission wait what? who is writing these press releases? the web will never have version numbers that actually mean anything other then hype train jargon that is too easy to regurgitate into marketing spam

@EU_Commission No, not web 3.0.

ActivityPub/ActivityStream fediverse is rather traditional web, much similar to e-mail rather then Blockchain Web 3.0 bullshits.

Fediverse is decentralized as much as traditional e-mail, except it did not failed (yet?) like e-mail did
