If you are reading this, you enjoy the openness and decentralisation of Web 3.0.

On , let's fast-forward to the future.

Web 4.0 will blend virtual and real environments while boosting innovation, rich content and industrial applications.

To ensure everyone benefits from it, we will:
- Shape global standards for open Web 4.0
- Foster a European Web 4.0 industrial ecosystem
- Boost access to trusted information
- Support virtual public services

@EU_Commission

yep, how about no?

I don't want your buzzwords-autocounter at all, I did my best to take pictures of real wars to avoid your plastic imagery and as an ordinary internet citizen I demand the opposite.
- Fund global standards already out there like ActivityPub, the worlds leading federated protocol, a completely open social network standard
- Ensure Privacy against the hypercapitalist surveillance ecosystem you helped to create
- Enable and incubate trusted information against corrupt politicians or populists
- whatever you mean by “virtual public services” : Cyber and Fediverse!

And, hell yes, I want #web0 as proposed by @aral too web0.small-web.org/

Khyber Pass, guarded by a Kalashnikow where the double magazine is sticked by tape from our reportage “Gun City”.

@EU_Commission what about helping starving people, fight against big fucking companies that are destroying our planet, and other ethical things to do ?!

We dont give a fuck about virtual worlds ... You just try to isolate us even more, staying in front of a computer when we just emerged from a pandemic !!

@EU_Commission Web 3.0? Nope.

I would be far keener on seeing the EU use its regulatory power to influence the web we already have than trying to invent a new one (not really an EU competence and there's no democratic mandate for it). Better to curtail the evils of surveillance capitalism before it destroys democracy and the planet. You should know very well who to support to effect this. Let's have GDPR 2.0 w enforcement not Web X.0 please.

@EU_Commission There is no Web 2.0 or 3.0 - see what W3C say: w3c.social/@w3c/11082587709009

@EU_Commission I'm reading this and consider web 3 and web 4 to be nonsense pushed by grifters, and I know I'm not alone

@EU_Commission I have never seen the EU do so much bs at once. Wow I hope the politicians thinking "this is great" will loose their job.
