I would be far keener on seeing the EU use its regulatory power to influence the web we already have than trying to invent a new one (not really an EU competence and there's no democratic mandate for it). Better to curtail the evils of surveillance capitalism before it destroys democracy and the planet. You should know very well who to support to effect this.
