People new to Mastodon sitting there waiting for the social media experience to come to them are missing the point.

Unlike elsewhere you aren't spoonfed a readymade network of "things you might like".

Instead you have to cultivate your own network, and you do that by boosting, talking and supporting i.e. By doing weird stuff like being sociable.and being willing to engage in conversation.
