What if the URL to my link is 10TB in size?

@feditips where does the number 23 cone from though? just an arbitrary pick or is the character count of some example link?

@feditips So only the first 23 characters are shown and rest are hidden? But surely there must be some limit on the length of the actual URL? Otherwise it would be a major vulnerability. Feeling kinda inclined to test this..

@feditips Link shorteners are used almost exclusively for tracking nowadays, so people who use them will continue using them.
