If you run into people on here who are breaking the rules of your server, even if they're from another server, you can still report them:

1. Go to the post with the problematic content
2. Click ⋯ at the bottom of the post and click "Report"
3. Complete the report and send it. (When you're sending, there's an option to anonymously send to the other server's admin too)

Beacuse the report can go both to your admin and optionally to the other server's admin, it can be dealt with at both ends.

@feditips I didn't know reports could be sent to another server's admins.

Mastodon is a really well thought-out platform.

@feditips the problem is the person owns the server and blocks you, the report button doesn’t work and have to reply to admin to over see the problem. You’ll also encounter alternative methods that bypass the block feature and make the problem worse. The block button is not the answer to trolls or bots. There’s needs a PSA to mastodon developers to solve theses issues.

@feditips I’ve used this reporting mechanism twice. I don’t know if I should expect a response from my local admin or not, but I didn’t get one in either case. I have no idea what happened after I reported the behavior.
