@darius I dunno, there's a big lack of "Don't dream it, be it!" energy (or something else that should be printed on a pillow) for this to be a LinkedIn post. 😬

@darius I cover it briefly in my article on unix tools, I mainly use it when I need to pass arguments around to multiple calls but am too lazy to write a full shell script for capturing output: https://billhunt.dev/blog/2015/05/10/unix-tools/

@darius Thanks! Hmm, I can't figure out how to follow hashtags in other views... but moreover the second part is a big issue - I think these should just appear like other lists. I'll do some poking at code this weekend...

It really doesn't matter if Mastodon adds better abuse controls because ActivityPub is literally structured in a way that makes abuse easy. A popular account can DDoS itself just by existing. We should be figuring out the next thing, not wasting time on something that's inherently broken.

Persian food

@darius I know nothing about Persian cooking, but my practical recommendation here would be 1:4 oil:lime and add more to taste. You don't need a lot, and unless you've got a really high-end olive oil you're only going to get the oiliness not the flavor.

@darius one common cause for this is that your pointer has moved slightly during the click and is no longer over the element - which may have moved or transitioned or had a state change during the event. onclick requires both a down and an up on the same element to fire.
