@65dBnoise I wonder if changing the Martian atmosphere composition would allow for it to retain a thicker atmosphere‽ Saturn’s moon Titan has a thicker atmosphere than Earth’s but has less than half of the gravity of Mars.

@65dBnoise You might be right about Elon selling the idea to anyone willing to buy into it. Many manufacturing companies would easily replace workers with robots if the cost were not astronomical (hundreds of thousands of dollars or millions to replace one job a worker could easily do).

I was initially underwhelmed when I saw the Tesla bot until Elon talked about using it to replace workers (which is somewhat alarming).

@65dBnoise Here is the video. With the exception of ASIMO (which officially has ended this year), all of these “Minor Projects” are way ahead of Tesla.

As far as ASIMO goes, its final robot is so far ahead of Tesla’s Optimus robot, which puzzled me as to why Elon unveiled his robot to the world.

My theory: Elon Musk wants to replace many of his workers with inexpensive robots who can work 24/7 without bathroom breaks, vacations or pay raises.

I actually thought about creating a Peertube account, but server fees (especially bandwidth) are currently beyond my budget right now. I am currently using Vimeo to host my content, & while not exactly cheap, it is within my budget.

I will keep looking for an affordable host though.

@dansup Perfect! 👍🏾 I can not wait until the #Pixelfed app launches in the App Store. My friends on #Instagram were worried I had disappeared after not posting there for months (I updated a post to explain I am on Pixelfed now).

Several of my friends & family are seeking out alternatives, & once the iOS app launches I will (via a dreaded Instagram reel) explain why Pixelfed should be chosen over alternative rivals like Glass Photo, Vero & VSCO.

What I saw seemed less advanced than ASIMO (from Japan 🇯🇵) was in 2011, the latter who could at least could at least walk up the stairs.

Elon’s goal is to build a cheap robot that can replace human factory workers. It's that simple.

Companies would pay for this & while it would not usher in a utopia, it would increase unemployment (at least in the short term).

@65dBnoise I believe you are missing the point. @Gargron If you do add it, you should make it so people can opt to have their posts “quote posted.” If the setting is on, people can do it. If not, then they can only boost.

You can even have it apply per post settings as well. Just a few suggestions.
