@feditips That sounds seamless and wonderful. However, when I try to look at and interact with accounts on other fediverse platforms, it opens in a new browser window and I'm asked to log in again - and when I do, I get an error message saying my email address or password are not valid. Is this a growing pains glitch, or am I doing something wrong / misunderstanding?

What I was referring to were profiles (many I've encountered, but I can gather up specific examples if you need them - let me know) that have moved from other instances. Such profiles have the link "Browse more from the other profile" at the bottom of their feeds. When I click on that link, it opens a new window, I am not logged in in that window, it won't let me log in, etc.

@feditips Sorry, but I'm not really following ... I've seen the analogy here that the federation is such that we're all phones with unique phone numbers, and anyone can contact us or us them, regardless of who our local phone providers are. This sounds like ... if I can't get through on someone's phone number, I have to figure out who their local phone provider is and contact that phone provider for tech support to just call someone.

@feditips OK. Then "Browse more from the other profile" is kind of misleading. It suggests I can click on the link and browse the profile right then and there. In fact, I would like to browse their profile *before* I follow them, to see if I want to follow them. But it sounds like you have to follow someone before you can see their previous content, to maybe then discover you're not interested. Do I have that right?

@FediFollows Thank you for the swift reassurance - much appreciated! That's what I will continue doing, which will include trying to interact and look around from my current location.

There seems to be a lot of concern that this current location is slower, not showing its full capabilities/feature set because it's running overcapacity due to the migration. But I actually don't mind if things are going at, let's say, a more contemplative pace.

@Janetgunter I share your concern about this very thing. A lot of organizations like this for whom I've done digital messaging consulting do not have the resources or agility, necessarily, to just hop from platform to platform.
