One of the world’s great university libraries is undergoing a thorough renovation and conservation of its collection. During the work, as if to remind us that the purpose of libraries is to preserve knowledge for the sake of our planet, they have hung a great glowing globe that shows the world’s revolution by video projection. The space is long and vaulted, with two levels of stacks. Marble busts of great thinkers line the Long Room.
