Around 27.6 million people are in forced labour.

In many sectors and every continent across the world.

We can never accept that people are threatened to make products that end up for sale in – business can never be done at the expense of people's dignity and freedom.

This week we welcome the political agreement to ban products made with forced labour from the Union market.

@EU_Commission products made with forced labor. Would that include TV showings of certain football championships, if they'd happen this year instead of 2 years ago?

@EU_Commission Is this policy also considered for the rendition of services through the use of forced labour, like call center operation or content moderation for social media? Does this prohibit products and services made with forced labour *in* the EU, possibly for export out of the Single Market, considering far-right political calls for "mandatory work services" to be rendered to companies for targeted groups?

@EU_Commission

Does that mean companies like #Tesla and #Apple won't be able to sell goods in the EU? AFAIK they use materials for their products that are mined using forced labour.

@EU_Commission

Do you also stand against wage labor slaves? No?

What about companies making their profits by using forced labor in poor countries? No?

I thought so.

@EU_Commission If the problem is forced labor on every continent, I propose eradicating it on Antarctica, it's likely to have the least of it so the effort should be minimized.

Almost all of the 1.5 million incarcerated in the USofA perform forced labor.
