@workingclasshistory When I first came upon this street sculpture in Dublin last year I couldn’t get the image out of my head because my paternal great great grandparents — Byrnes originating from Co. Wicklow — only start appearing in English records from about 1850, anglicised as Burns.

And many ended up in London, Liverpool, Glasgow too. I have ancestors from Skibbereen who ended up in Greenwich. The rest of the family went to America
