@dansup @berkes it makes sense, and is also what threads will do; users will be able to opt in to interacting with mastodon etc. I think it makes sense, 99% doesn't realize they are posting to other platforms and people too otherwise and might not want that.

@dansup @berkes this is a great decision in my opinion. Web should be opt-in, rather than opt-out, no matter what, as long as it’s clear and easy to do so.

The core of the fediverse is a more ethical approach to digital life and there’s no real reason to revoke it even if 99% opt-in. That only shows how easy it is for users to make their own choices.
