Post for techy people interested in Mastodon's federation

One of the most requested features on Mastodon's github is for backfilling old posts on remote profiles when they are followed, so that followed profiles are never empty.

This would make federation much much more intuitive.

If you're comfortable using Github, and if you agree this feature would be a good idea, could you give it a thumbs up so they know there is demand for it?

@feditips interesting. I don't think it would be too difficult to get this result developed. If I have time in the next weeks I'll take a look into it in the next weeks and make a pull request. Shouldn't be that complicated.

@feditips But instance admins would definately need control over how many posts would be backfilled, cause this might result in huge resource jumps in no time.
