Accessibility is important, and by describing your photos with alt text you can help vision impaired people better understand the context.

@dansup @pixelfed Yeah, but if the app ever loose focus, or even just switch horizontal to vertical (or the other way around) BEFORE posting, on my Asus #ZenPhone7 I loose everything beside the photo itself. I suspect it might do the same on most #other_phones. #Pixelfed #PixelfedApp #PixelfedOfficialApp

@dansup @pixelfed I suggest increasing the character limit though! I've been having a hard time making my descriptions fit the current limit :(

Excellent, glad to have alt-text visible.

One suggestion: could we move the [Alt] block to attach itself to the bottom left under the image & have the Alt-text itself be presented in a non-modal way, for instance also attached to the bottom of the image too.

That way both the image and the alt-text can both be viewed at the same time.

(Same would be nice in @IceCubesApp )

@dansup Related question: can you find an image by searching for terms from its alt text? For example, if I'm searching for "shih tzu", would the photo attached to your toot show up in the results?
