@Gargron @jerry So there's an old bug that causes a few problems with GIFS /2467 where the aforementioned workaround does not resolve the issue. I noticed it when I signed up for Mastodon. Even changing the compression level of the GIF didn't seem to work (I tried a few sites). (Basically, I had to use my Discord avatar's profile link to re-dl the same GIF in order to work around this issue). Screenshot below:
