Cases of covert foreign interference in EU democracies have increased in recent years. And Russia’s war has not helped.

Today, we launched a public consultation to help further develop the new Defence of Democracy package, which will:

- Strengthen resilience against foreign interference
- Enhance transparency and accountability
- Promote free and fair elections
- Foster citizen participation

Protecting our democracy is at the heart of our priorities.

@EU_Commission Time to investigate MEPs for Russian funding, some cases are rather obvious.. they seem to be investing it on wine bars.

@EU_Commission
Will past activities be investigated for Russian funding?
For example, if Brexit occured due to such help, will it be open to invalidation?
