@workingclasshistory I was taught that the Irish famine was caused by a blight on the potatoes. The Irish people starved because there was no food (school books left out that this was due to the greed of the British). It was a horror but there was nothing that could be done about it. We need to do better in our teaching of history especially considering we still say hypocritical shit like “those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it” (obviously a lie - see Israel)
