omg the climatologist signaling anyone can talk to them, you are very brave indeed. I always felt like for all the talk about outreach on borb it was actually impossible to do because the only ppl who interact with ppl in a given field enough for the (usually boring-ish, inside baseball) posts to get sorted at the top are ppl in that field. otherwise it was mostly outrage or scandal that reached non-academics

@jonny On Twitter I had a block list of well over 100k accounts to make it usable. But here, I am fine with anyone talking climate to me.

Maybe make they system in a way that you can reserve certain (office) hours? I have seen famous people (I think on Twitter) say that they have an hour to burn, ask me anything. That worked.

I do wonder when it comes to "is it real" whether a text interface is good enough or whether it only works in the flesh. Text is more for details with references.
