Thinking about villages vs. market towns vs. cities and festivals and a social network that connected up all its community nodes, like, once a week. That'd be about right for my brain.
Maybe some folk horror vibes. Too many bees, that type of thing.

@kissane tbh Front Porch Forum works kind of like that! It's fascinating and not really documented anywhere I know of. The 2019 Verge article doesn't really get into it
