Woke up to multiple reports of homophobic posts on pixelfed.social from another pf instance.

When questioned, the admin (who made the post) claimed religious freedom.

They were banned from our discord and removed from the pixelfed.org server directory.

They proceeded to report me to GitHub, then when that failed they TEXTED ME!

Just now I banned them from our matrix after trying to justify DM a 17 yo girl repeatedly (after 2 warnings) and now are trying to say only homosexuals can use pf 🙄

The thing with this kind of people is that they don't understand that their freedom of speech does not mean we are forced to listen. He can say whatever he wants on his spaces, we just want to choose what is acceptable or not in our spaces.

@dansup im confused, isn't pixelfed like mastodon regarding this stuff? that instances do have rules which have to be accepted to be on that instance or connect to it?
If so, is there a rule against homophobic content? Quite sure there is, just double checking.
Then did this guy just not know about that, ignored it or wanted that there are no rules?
I think its good what u did, just generally intrested :)
