@searls A critique I read noted the absense of any method of local travel faster than walking

Daggerfall? Horse
Morrowind? No horse
Oblivion? Horse
Skyrim? Horse

Bethesda Fallouts? No horse, no bicycle, no motorcycle, no car, same issue as Starfield

Destiny franchise? Many fun vehicles

Halo franchise? Many fun vehicles

@searls Metrics issue might be somewhat remedied by looking at player drop in terms of percentage. I believe it’s much worse for Starfield than Skyrim. It’s probably even more dire on Xbox/Game pass as sunk cost fallacy kicks in less. There people have so many games that could play instead.

@searls I’d argue that Starfield is not a good game at all. It’s a competently made game and that trips people up. It’s bad RPG. You can’t do a proper evil run. Quests don’t allow for that mostly. It’s barely an OK shooter. Quests are largely boring. Much hyped exploration is not there in any form or shape. Gameplay is obviously grindy. But there’s a lot of content, models are nice and bugs are not as severe so it’s hard to call it just bad.
