There are no "verified" badges on here. If you see someone using a symbol like :verified: it's just a custom emoji that means absolutely nothing.

However, there are still ways you can verify your identity on here. For example we know that the European Commission's official account is @EU_Commission

@feditips I tried to verify my website (ACASignups.net) but it's been several days and the green check isn't showing yet. I know the servers are overloaded due to #Twexit, but am still concerned I did something wrong?

I have the proper code on the home page of the site:

Well it means they checked their display name looks alright, like checking your hair in the mirror before going out and deciding on a whim to wear a blue flower; perhaps reflecting their romanticism.
