@darius @erincandescent @evan mostly my goal is to not ever know about people's replies up front if I don't want to, so just blackholing them works for my purposes -- as long as other replies to those replies don't somehow also leak in, which I suspect is probably a harder issue to solve?

mostly I think about this in terms of anti-dogpiling systems.
