I wrote this after staying up all night to ship the hashtag follow app update and waking up 3 hours later to a few negative comments

It made me reevaluate my priorities and want to focus on the aspects they brought up

The eternal struggle, I feel guilty about working on PubKit, Sup, FediDB and other projects when people point out Pixelfed issues or feature requests, and when I do, I get a few comments about Sup, PubKit release dates and I'm doing my best to ship them

The neg vibes don't help

@dansup you're always going to get entitled people who think they have some right to your time. I'm interested in the release of PubKit, sure, but I'm more interested in your general development updates. It makes a refreshing change from a lot of projects where there is mostly silence as it's nice to see your enthusiasm for what you're working on, whatever you're working on.

Don't let the bar stewards grind you down, and do what you enjoy 😁

@dansup Please don't get discouraged. You're doing amazing work that's appreciated by thousands and thousands of people. And I know I'm speaking for many when I say thank you for all your time, hard work, and dedication.

@dansup We have a saying in my home country that roughly translates like this:

Human beings have a strange need to always bargain.
You make a discount? They’ll want a bigger discount.
You give it for free? They’ll try to make you pay them to keep your product. 🙄🤷‍♂️

@dansup Dude, you’re amazing, and doing so much for the Fediverse already. Please don’t ever doubt the gratitude that all of us already owe you - whether those new releases ever see the light of day or not. You prioritize what you love first. The rest of us can wait on what comes next.
