Holy Macaroni,

Now our microblogging spaces are fabulous for interesting discussions to be forgotten as they sink in timeline history.

But my, my.. is even worse, especially when engaging across many different active rooms.

The more deeply engaged people are and bringing up fascinating thoughts, the quicker the information-processing debt grows.

People like to chat there, find it low-barrier to participate. Yet its up to poor info collectors to do the chores of preserving.

@humanetech must everything interesting be preserved?

@humanetech On the other hand it's very hard to find stuff in the Fediverse "timeline history" while you can do full-text search in Matrix-rooms.

But both are tools for communication. We have Wikis and Blogs for publishing information.

Forums are somewhere in the middle.

@humanetech INFORMATION COLLECTION / ORGANIZING / LOST IN THE MASS

I agree about what you said and at the same time see this as a personal thing between a few specialists perhaps more than collective though sites and people that doesn't exist really help but after can just be duplication / not interesting for others.

I thought "why I would say this or even have mixed reasons" ans some are below (I don't know what I'm trying to say other than some points below)

- We (the individual) are best at doing that work you mention, though it takes heroic persistence (which I think you, I and a few others have dedicated our life to).

- Others are shit (not that good at the above) and therefore best left to the hero-cats that can (as we are also shit in other area or at least I speak for myself not perfect but I'm a marathon runner, don't have kids and other harsh time/energy drains)

- Even if I gave people all answers they wouldn't take it. Harsh reality is people like me need a front end to serve all the fake fronts people have and their psycho-unlogical problems they have as soon as they hit a bump in the road... (sounds like I'm hating NO! Please I just mean what I say... scratch the surface and people take anything and everything against you, themselves and others, like this bitchy gossip scared-shadow-people they are- and therefore from testing 100's of people literally like daily a few people, I come to the conclusion giving them the answer doesn't do it.

- People need to suffer / get to the same point as you / be in your shoes otherwise they can't take your words for it (especially over the internet).

This was meant to be fresh or straight air and as short as possible for what is always longer points... Oh yeah last point:

- TL;DR people (even the clever sometimes or those freedom fighter, mostly lightweights in the field of communication and hashing it out by using each other but not damaging internally or externally- SEEING problems and accepting but still hammering it our / cooperating).
Make me sound like the perfect partner- even for people with ego's but mostly people fall at the first hurdle or two and go back in their box / shell.

@tchambers I'm wondering about this very issue. How can both the Indieweb and the Fediverse work together to assist in these sorts of things? All I can think of is a human-curated archive that anyone can contribute to... for chat logs, particularly public chat logs, we could set up automatic compressors and then upload them to such a place on the web.

@humanetech we had a project for that meany years ago.

The chatwiki - normal chat with a button that pushes the chat text item across to a wiki that then can be edited for context.

Every new chat gets a new wiki page

This is kinda what I do on my blog now for toots... interesting to remind me of the project.
