For those of you not in the United States, here's a glimpse at how part of our healthcare system works.

My wife needs a medication that costs over $1,000 per month. We have (good & expensive) health insurance through my employer that covers prescriptions. With insurance, the cost goes down to $900 per month.

I did some digging and found that there's a coupon online that you can use to get the medicine for $25 per month.

Somehow, Americans think this is better than single payer.

@drmaddkap if it’s a speciality medicine, there are sometimes rebate programs you can enroll in that offer discounts based on income and your existing insurance provider.

It’s insane 😞
