@feditips it sounds like I have the opposite issue yesterday. I'm on mas.to and have used the multi column interface for over a year.

When I logged in yesterday it was back to a single column. First time that has ever happened. In the upper right corner of the screen I had to toggle 'Advanced Interface' and then everything switched back to my customized multi column mode.

I used the mastodon app for iOS on my iPad. Single column default. Frequently when I’d tap on a thread to see replies, particularly if I looked at an embedded link, it would switch to 2-column when I left the thread and returned to my feed. 2-column is dreadful on iPad. I’d restart the app and it would be fine. Switched to Icecube recently and haven’t had a recurrence.

@feditips Opens up as a single column for me - I'm using Firefox. I then switch to multi columns - have only just worked out how to get Notifications into the column! 😁
