Yes, they are. But on the whole one can say there's a big difference between #Github and #Gitlab and #FOSS code forges.
The whole concept of 'code forge' is FOSS-only. A code forge is like a discrete app. GH and GL are wholly differently positioned. They aren't apps.. they help you do software development (product-positioning-wise).
The Forgers Guild wants to focus on "forging software" and also take this broader perspective.
