@krusynth Genuinely not sure what you mean here! I would say that mastodon might have made some decisions in its implementation of ActivityPub that makes self DDOSing a thing, but I could also say that the world wide web is structured such that a website being popular means it gets DDOSed just by virtue of having a lot of traffic.

@darius The difference here is that I can throw a caching layer in front of a webserver and call it a day. Meanwhile I have to kick my mastodon server at least once a month.

I earnestly appreciate the work you and others have done on the platform! That being said, I'm inherently anti-push protocol, I've never seen it done well at scale. But we all know I'm a Luddite.
