@evan @darius @charlesrandall note that origin servers have no control over what other servers show as a reply to a post in the protocol as-implemented today

i.e. when you view a post, the things that show up as replies are any messages that someone declared as inReplyTo that post that your server knows about

@erincandescent @evan @charlesrandall exactly this. you can limit what renders as a reply in your canonical, on-server view when people look at canonical source url for your post but that's about it
