@artfulreggie That all makes since. My use case is two-fold: first, I need something to take notes on, and don't want to drag my gaming laptop around to seminars. Since my phone is more than powerful enough, I could just slot it in to a monitor/keyboard combo, I could use it as a laptop with Google Docs.

Second, I just need a bigger screen sometimes that is easier to see/manipulate. Doesn't have to scale. Just an iPad size screen.

@drmaddkap What's frustrating is that a driver for touch capacitive external screens on Android EXISTS. (Or at least the foundation of one.)

This is what Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are.

But why work towards a universal screen solution when producers can lock people into an upgrade cycle of tablets to ensure a predictable revenue stream?
