@feditips @spacedragon I just discovered how to follow groups a couple days ago. Really enjoying the ones I have joined so far.

@feditips Literally a few minutes ago I was doing it manually but now I learned about StreePass which is incredible. Thank you for the tip!

@feditips@mstdn.social how does one follow hashtags? I can only seem to click on the ones that show up in my feed, let alone search for and follow them

@feditips 10. Use Followgraph to discover who those you follow are following, sorted by number of mutual following: followgraph.vercel.app

@feditips A useful tip is also to look for toots you find interesting and look through responses to find people to follow. And if you want to animate people to follow you: respond to an interesting toot, or engage someone with a (thoughtful) question. Engagement is what works wonders.
Or respond to someone's question, particularly of new joiners (look at the relevant hashtags)

@feditips I'm clueless about groups. Could you do some posts on the basics at all please?

@feditips
I find it useful to explore by favorites & boosts: if you see a post you like click the icons to see who boosted/favorited it.

Odds are they may be interesting, possibly welcoming you to their space. They may also be boosting things they think people* would like to see, and maybe youโ€™re also people*!
*(human/fox/cat/dog/goblin/bug/etc)

Feels Iโ€™ve never seen mention of this, but itโ€™s been my primary exploration method across many social networks. Made some great friends along the way!
