We call on the European Council to take the necessary decisions to allow Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia to become full Schengen members.

Their citizens must enjoy the full benefits of Schengen without further delay.

Hrvatska je spremna!
България е готова!
România este pregătită!

Allowing #Romania and #Bulgaria into #Schengen would be good for their development, but I wonder if the #Netherlands or someone will force a compromise where Romania and Bulgaria get separated

@EU_Commission In this time, a strong and unified Europe is a necessity! We need all european countries to join together on the common project that is EU!

@EU_Commission if there's not enough schengen fuel, we can perhaps exclude #hungary from EU and distribute their schengen between the three?

@EU_Commission
Are you sure Bulgaria is ready? Do you follow the political situation there? Are you aware of the state of the customs on the borders?

@EU_Commission that will pee off all the long term Brit campervan/motorhome owners who want to spend more than 90 days continuously in EU countries as that will stop them doing the “Schengen Shuffle” (90 days in EU/90 days non-Schengen without returning to the UK). They’ll have to head either back to UK or go to Turkey, Morocco etc. This is what Brits have lost through Brexit - the right to freedom of travel, to work, or to live in the EU without trouble.

@EU_Commission I hope the #EUcouncil exercise prudence on this decision. Times of crisis aren't good to set long term policies because decisions could be taken for the wrong reasons. If I remember correctly, this decision demands unanimous approval by the nations members of the treaty, not an easy task.

@EU_Commission Adding new members into Schengen is an important step to strengthen the unity of EU. But, we also need an aligned strategy among all Schengen members how to manage the immigration into Schengen borders. Up to now, every member seems to follow its own policy instead of maintaining one common Schengen policy.

@EU_Commission This should have been done a long time ago. There should be no opposition when it comes to EU unity. If this time also there opposition from a country or a group of countries, there should be a investigation on what's really going on and if there's any ties to Russia.
