@darius This may be true, but “petulantly acting victimized” isn’t against the server’s rules as far as I know.

You don’t have to be a n*zi to think you might say something that rubs somebody the wrong way. And the prospect of being banned from this new interesting platform you’re trying to earnestly adopt because you bug someone is a huge disincentive to give it any of your time or attention.

And for the success of Mastodon we should want people to want to be here.

@jsit I think a major incentive for people to be here, possibly THE major incentive, is that admins are actually empowered to get rid of jerks *and* that individuals are free to vote with their feet and go to other servers.

There is room for improvement of course but I think this is actually Mastodon more or less acting *as designed* and I love it here.
