Remember when celebrities would get called out on Twitter for posting an Android app or Samsung ad from "Twitter for iPhone" or vice versa?

Now consider how the Mastodon founder posts from a 3rd party app.

It's not news, and he doesn't have to hide it.

This highlights the power of open apis, open code and federated platforms!

No matter what client you prefer, you have the freedom of choice, and that's really special.

The fediverse embraces choice and diversity, don't take it for granted!

@dansup yea youre right, on twitter the choice you have is between twitter for android, twitter for iphone, twitter web app, maybe tweetdeck and some random ass solution for businesses and enterprise and thats it

the best thing about mastodon is that **you** choose where to use the social and not being bound to a single app to use it

seriously, the power of choice is what makes mastodon and the fediverse as whole better than any single social network

@dansup @Gargron That is amazing I just wish I could more easily follow people from other instances... instead of copy pasting usernames and instances and all that "friction" that is in the way of new user experience. One day when UX improves and it is silky smooth to build your friends list no matter where they are it will truly be amazing moment for the fediverse :)

Are you guys hiring UX people or? I may be able to refer some.

@dansup
Alt text or a link to the post would be good here given that it’s just text.

Basic alt text:

Screenshot of a mastodon post from the creator of mastodon showing that the post was made from the Ivory for iOS app.
