@darius @danilo I go with emacs for anything serious but 98% of my code is written in nano, it's just too convenient...
I used VS Code for about a year at work and HATED IT SO MUCH...between the freezing/crashing and the constant attempts to "autocomplete" things that I had already completed...at this point I basically only use nano there too, with a bit of notepad++. I have no idea about plugins and such though; installing any of those would violate corporate security policy. I damn near got fired for downloading portable Firefox a few years back...
