If you see one such document you'll know why Curiosity is stll doing science on Mars after 10+ years. Old tube radios were mostly constructed using the "dead bug" layout under the chassis; at least the ones I've seen. That document, if memory serves me right, was a fully illustrated spec of how the electronic construction, soldering, cabling, tying, crimping, termination, etc should look and function for a robust result that can withstand the torture of a space mission.
