Past couple of days our timelines were full of buzz about the sudden move of @gitea to found a company, walking a #Gitlab path.
While much was to do about #DAO's and #crypto real issues are that this surprise act was prepared in secrecy without consulting the #community of passionate volunteers and against policies.
The community has responded with a #GiteaOpenLetter asking back domains and trademark and establish a democratically-led non-profit instead.
