Every child in Europe must be protected and respected online.

We are at work to deliver on this commitment and make them informed digital citizens.

To mark the 20th anniversary of Safer Internet Day, we released two child-friendly booklets and a web game to introduce them to the Digital Rights and Principles Declaration and the Better Internet for Kids Strategy.

As digital natives, they deserve to know their rights and enjoy a safer Internet.

@EU_Commission

Please stop the proposal on mass surveillance of the EU, the proposal called "chat control 2".

It is a really, really, very, very, bad idea.

Please think about what you are doing, you are causing a lot of damage to our free societies by proposing something like this. Please stop and think.

@EU_Commission What in the name of all that is Holly means 'to protect you from content that can make you worry, angry or sad' ? Yes, I don't like a**holes on the Internet, but this sound like a big time censorship!

@EU_Commission
Unfortunately the most dangerous place for children is not the Internet, but their homes.

Children who are victims of violence - physical, secual, psychological violence - usually know their perpetrators very well. They are members of the families, neighbours or close friends of the parents.
None of this is mentioned in your high profile political stunts. There would be stronger arguments to monitor children’s rooms instead of Internet communication.

@EU_Commission 'The EU wants to make sure that you are protected from online content that could make you feel worried, angry or sad'

So no more educating and informing kids on climate change, police brutality, racism, etc etc?

@EU_Commission You know what keeps people safe on the internet? Encryption!

What gives kids safe spaces? Encryption!

What keeps randos from tampering with your pacemaker? Encryption!

@EU_Commission This is at best misleading. These pamphlets give of a false impression that some of these statements, that aren't worded as rights, are just facts.

The worst offender is the last paragraph about the environmental impact of electronic devices.
