Hidden Supernova

My aim this weekend was to snap the Vela Supernova Remnant, but though I did catch it (just left of the middle) it is being overwhelmed by the gigantic Gum Nebula.

This image is about the same area of sky as you’d cover with your hand held stretched out in front of you.
