Indeed. Some people even worried that the rover could not cross them easily.

The width of those we see is >= 2m; can be much wider. HiRISE can easily resolve them with its 25cm resolution. What makes them interesting IMO is their length and the fact that they appear not to follow ground slopes.

The paper seems to deal with local, small scale formations. It doesn't include HiRISE images to show larger scales.
