I don't understand why they don't use git under the covers to manage the changes.

@searls I’d have to guess this is due to autosave indiscriminately firing and updating the modification date when opening your MacBook Air; fooling iCloud into thinking it’s newer. Just a guess, but either way, pretty terrible.

Do you have a Time Machine backup that could help?
