On 1 January, joined the area and adopted the —an historic milestone for the youngest Member State.

On 5 January, 51% of cash payments in shops in Croatia were already made in euro, and in 93% of transactions, consumers received their change in euro only.

The next generations of Croatians will grow up in Schengen, and the euro will strengthen Croatia's macroeconomic stability and resilience.
