There are online tools for finding out Mastodon addresses of people you follow on Twitter.

I'm not on Twitter so cannot test. However, if you want to try:

🐦 Debirdify
pruvisto.org/debirdify

🔍 Fedifinder
fedifinder.glitch.me

➡️ Movetodon
movetodon.org

Could you let the rest of us know your experiences in the replies?

If you want other people to find you, put your full Mastodon address in your Twitter profile. More info here: fedi.tips/how-to-use-mastodon-

@feditips

Use movetodon.org to sign into both Twitter and Mastodon and auto-find people to follow.

@feditips I used Debirdify and it worked very well.

@feditips I used fedifinder but only partially. I gave it access to my twitter api then downloaded the csv file and manually added each user without updating my twitter profile.

@feditips (33 days later) I don't think putting your Mastodon link in your birdsite profile is possible anymore. Mine is still there, because I put it there before the new changes of the fascist birdsite overlord. I test-clicked it today and it doesn't lead anywhere now. Trying to edit anything in my profile without removing the link gives me an error message. Maybe with "creative spelling" or something like linktr.ee it could be still possible to link to Masto, idk.

@feditips I used fedifinder.glitch.me today and it was pretty smooth and easy. Can recommend.

@feditips This is even better. Very quick and smooth. All login info stays in the browser: movetodon.org/

@feditips never managed to connect to fedifinder, the website seems not to work, but debirdify works like a charm, I used it when I started here

@feditips Fedifinder worked quite easily for me.

@feditips The fedfinder worked great for me. Only caveat: I had to un-obfuscate my mastodon handle on my Twitter profile for it to work. (I’ve been using superflippy at 🐘.xyz)

@feditips I've used both and it certainly found me some people but it has also missed some, peeps I've come across organically here. It's impossible to tell how many are missed vs not on Mastodon yet.

Anyway, I'd certainly suggest either or both as a starting place (and have been boosting toots with those links and helpful info).

@feditips I’m pretty happy with Fediverse, it also let me grab accounts from my lists. I can’t remember how to save the resulting csv in iOS so have been struggling to update my follows as people migrate

@feditips this is cool, but it would be great if someone had a way to pull this from your Twitter archive. I deleted my account almost a month ago but I backed up my data beforehand. Would love to find the users I followed again.

@feditips Debirdify worked great for me, found half a dozen more mastodon addresses that I hadn't found yet. Thanks for the tip!

@feditips
Tried debirdify it says my mob number can’t receive a text message? Because the operator isn’t supported 🤷🏼‍♂️
