@searls what is the source material? I can imagine the native word being less known to a lot of demographics, and (the imported) cosmology being used more often.

We do this in Dutch too, where many younger than 50 will use the word ‘proteïne’ rather than the native ‘eiwitten’. Using imported words instead of native ones can also help with disambiguation.

@searls that said, it does look incredibly weird that the ‘furigana’ here is in katakana for a different word.
