This annoying new Mastodon trend of repeating the toot as the alt text in an image has better stop soon or I will beat your arse! It's lazy and unhelpful and frankly disrespectful for people who need the bloody alt text to "see" the image.

Alt text is to describe the image. 🤬

We need to start calling out this crappy alt text. Not boosting it. And certainly not doing it. FFS it's not complicated and if you don't have the energy for the alt, leave it blank. I think there's a tag to ask someone to help? Maybe #ALT4me ?

@Tattooed_Mummy I think many of these are automated posts (for example flipboard stuff). That is not an excuse, just a comment. I fully support you that it is bullshit.
