Have you tried your server's Local timeline yet? 🥳 It shows all public posts by people on your server. On huge servers it's a mess, but on smaller servers it can be really fun and friendly, especially on themed servers.

-If you're using the official app, click the magnifying glass 🔍 , then the Community tab. This is your server's Local.

-If you're using a browser, click on "Local" or 👥 at the right of the screen.

Third party apps will also have their own interface to access Local.

@feditips I tried in on mine, but all I saw were my own posts. Oh wait, it's my instance, and I'm the only user! Working As Intended.

FediTips has moved!

p.s. You can usually see a server's Local feed by going to its website and clicking on "Local" or 👥 . You don't need to be logged in or a member. (Some servers keep their Local feeds hidden from non-members though.)

Some third party apps such as Fedilab and Subway Tooter on Android or Ice Cubes on iPhone/iPad let you follow other servers' Local feeds, though of course you need to be a member of the server to contribute to the feed.

@feditips so it's more than a thinned down global Federated feed?
