@ct_bergstrom I am not sure we should see the signups as strong verification. Many people sign up with a personal email account, rather than their institutional email account.

So a fake account could link to your publication record and be accepted. I do expect that the people here would soon notice. So an account that has posted for some time could be seen as verified.
