The entry into force of the Data Governance Act paves the way for a new European way of data governance in line with our values and fundamental .

It will allow society and the economy to benefit from data sharing and will support the creation of common European spaces, from manufacturing to cultural heritage.

We are increasing trust in data sharing and creating a data that is innovative and open to our conditions.

@EU_Commission The act has so many conceptual uncertainties. The use of data by privately owned, profit-oriented companies and by publicly funded research institutes are represented at the same level regarding their contribution for society. If researchers from public universities would use my anonimyzed data for research, that would be okay for me; but if a company would use my data to develope a new product, I would definitely reject it. But the act does not define spereration between them.
