Childhood stolen. Dreams shattered.

Over 160 million children endure child labour, half of which are exploited in hazardous work. It's time for a change.

We're taking action by:

🧸 Strengthening regulations to prevent child labour and promote decent work.
⚽ Preparing a new law to ban products made by forced labour from entering the EU.

Let's end child labour. Restore innocence. Empower dreams.

@EU_Commission

A new law banning products of forced labour?

That is going to set off the frothing loonies in some countries.

I can think of several countries outside the EU which could find their exports to the EU affected.

@EU_Commission and how about accepting this children amd their parents as refugees in Europe? That would be a good policy against #ChildLabour!

@EU_Commission With US states legalizing child labor, the EU will need to address importing anything made here.

@EU_Commission in the US we’re re-introducing child labor because our billionaires need more money.

@EU_Commission What about doing something to actually fight human traffic and french neocolonialism? The thing is that our companies need unpaid and illegal labor from children and illegal immigrants which cant even access to a visa.

@EU_Commission

This is an approach even capitalists in the US might understand.

No exports to the EU if you use child labor.
